GoVegan is a digital recipe transformation application developed and operated by Scala.IA Ltda (CNPJ 64.981.936/0001-23), headquartered in Brazil.

This Privacy Notice applies to anyone who visits our website, uses the GoVegan app, creates an account, or contacts us through any channel.

By using GoVegan, you confirm that you have read and understood this notice, in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD — Law No. 13.709/2018).

3.1 Data you provide directly

Account data: first name, surname, email address, password, date of birth, and gender (optional).

Recipe preferences: eating style, dietary needs, allergies or intolerances, recipe priorities, location, preferred stores, and measurement preferences.

Recipe content: original recipes, transformed recipes, notes, and feedback you choose to save.

Support communications: messages sent via email or in-app support.

3.2 Data collected automatically

Usage data: features used, session duration, interactions within the app, and error logs.

Device data: device type, operating system, app version, and browser type (for web).

Location data: country, region, city, or postal code — only when you choose to share it or use “Use my current location.”

3.3 Data from third-party sign-in

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information you authorize on those platforms (typically name and email).

We use personal data to:

Create and manage your GoVegan account (contract performance).

Transform recipes according to your dietary preferences and priorities (contract performance / consent).

Show ingredient substitutions suited to your region and preferred stores (contract performance / consent).

Highlight possible allergen or dietary risks based on information you provide (consent).

Improve the product, fix technical issues, and maintain security (legitimate interest).

Comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).

Send service-related communications when necessary (legitimate interest / consent).

We do not use your data for purposes incompatible with those listed above without your prior consent.

GoVegan may process sensitive information such as food allergies, intolerances, celiac disease, and other dietary requirements that you choose to provide.

This data receives enhanced protection and is processed only:

With your explicit consent, given before that information is collected.

For the direct purpose of personalizing recipe transformations and ingredient guidance.

With restricted access to systems that need it to provide the service.

You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing already performed.

GoVegan uses artificial intelligence — including third-party AI providers such as OpenAI — to analyze recipes, suggest ingredient substitutions, estimate nutritional changes, and explain culinary techniques.

Before personal data is sent to a third-party AI provider, GoVegan requests your consent where required by applicable law and platform rules (including Apple App Store guidelines).

AI outputs are informational and educational. They do not replace professional medical or nutritional advice. No decision with significant legal or health effects is made solely by automated systems without human review available on request.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these situations:

With AI and cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., OpenAI, hosting providers) as processors bound by data protection agreements, solely to operate GoVegan.

With analytics providers, only if you consent to analytics cookies or tracking.

When required by law, court order, or competent authority.

Some technology providers may process data outside Brazil, including in the United States. Transfers follow LGPD requirements, including contractual safeguards and equivalent protection standards.

Account and profile data: while your account is active, plus up to 5 years after closure for legal and tax purposes.

Saved recipes and preferences: while your account is active, plus up to 2 years after closure unless you request earlier deletion.

Support and usage logs: up to 12 months.

Legal retention: as required by applicable law.

After retention periods, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

Under the LGPD, you may request: access, correction, anonymization or deletion, portability, information about sharing, revocation of consent, objection to certain processing, and human review of AI-generated recommendations.

Our website may use essential cookies (session, preferences) and, with your consent, analytics cookies. You can manage preferences in your browser or cookie settings.

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and cloud security practices. In case of a relevant security incident, we notify authorities and affected users as required by law.

GoVegan is not intended for users under 18. We verify age through date of birth at registration. If we learn a minor registered without parental consent, we will delete the account.

We may update this Privacy Notice. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 15 days in advance where required. Continued use after notice may constitute acceptance of non-material updates.
